How do you feel about double denim? In past years, any outfit involving denim on denim would pretty much guarantee your spot on the worst dressed list, but the fashion pack have been collectively breaking this rule and we are loving it. Be warned - this trend has the potential to go horribly wrong.
We bring you the top double denim triumphs and failures and teach you how to tackle this tricky trend.
Rule 1: Keep it tailored
Because you are already layering the same fabric, you want to make sure that all of your pieces are tailored and fit you well. Anything baggy or ill fitting makes you look like your being swallowed by a denim monster, so stick to skinny jeans and tapered shirts for the best look.

Rule 2: Contrast the wash
Always opt for denim pieces in different shades. Anything too similar in shade looks matchy matchy and will overwhelm your figure. We love contrasting a white denim skirt with a dark denim shirt or simply playing with different traditional blue washes.

Rule 3: Keep accessories neutral
You are already making such a big statement with this trend that it is important to keep all other accessories neutral. We love breaking up the denim with a plain black belt or a buttery nude handbag.

Rule 4: No more than two
This is probably the most important rule of them all. Never wear any more than two denim pieces at any one time. This is a good rule for any standout texture, because more than two starts to look really messy and over the top.

Rule 5: Keep it simple
This look is all about effortless style, and it’s success largely depends on keeping the rest of the outfit simple and elegant. Standout accessories, layers or beauty looks do not work with double denim, and you are better off keeping the look clean and classy with a less is more approach to your styling.
