Look in your cosmetic case and what do you see? The same pink and red shades you frequent and probably have owned for years. Well it's time to change it up a little and experiment with this underrated shade - brown.
Brown lipsticks come in hundreds of different shades: terracotta, hot chocolate, cocoa and blackberry to name a few. If you haven’t tried any of these brown shades you are seriously missing out. Brown is modern, and is more widely flattering than your standard fuschias and fire engine reds.

Tips using brown lipstick...
Tip 1 - Mix it up
A great way to quickly triple your lipstick choices is to mix shades together. Brown is the perfect addition to light pinks and mauve because it adds natural depth. Doing this is a great way to make a custom shade that perfectly suits your skin tone and complexion.
TIP 2 - Brown lip liner
Outlining your lips with a natural brown liner can add depth to your lips and make them appear fuller. Using a slightly lighter shade of lipstick between the lines gives the appearance of a natural pout and is often referred to as an ombre lip color. Kylie Jenner is the absolute pro of this technique, which gives you a subtle 90s vibe and the perfect pout.
TIP 3 - Add copper shimmer
Brown lipstick coated with a gold or copper shimmer will instantly light your face. Apply brown shimmer to the centre of your lips below your cupids bow to highlight the area and make them appear fuller. This slight shimmer is much more subtle and classic than the sticky shine of a lip gloss.
