Victoria’s Secret Angels are considered some of the most beautiful women in the world. They are obviously blessed with some seriously good genes and killer bone structure, but their makeup is key to their flawless appearance on the runway.
Dick Page, head makeup artist for the 2016 runway, has revealed some of his secrets to getting the classic Victoria’s Secret look – and you may be surprised by how easy it is to replicate for yourself.
1. Get glowing
Victoria’s Secret angels are all about glowing, youthful skin. This means only using luminous products and steering clear of anything heavy or matte. Page swears by cream blush and liquid illuminator to give the girls a natural, healthy glow.
2. Keep it natural
The look is all about accentuating a woman’s natural beauty so Page avoids any harsh or graphic lines. This means no winged eyeliner and no heavy contouring. Instead, trace liquid eyeliner only along the crease and stop before the end of the lash line. Accentuate the eyes by brushing a soft beige shadow across the crease.
3. Subtle lashes
You would think that fake eyelashes would be key to the bombshell VS look but Page says he actively avoids lash overload. Instead of using heavy strip lashes, which can look too heavy, he opts for individual lashes and sparingly applies them throughout each models natural lash line. This combined with use of thickening mascara and a curler gives you the perfect natural, doe eyed look.
4. Wave it out
Thick, flowing, voluminous waves are a signature look for the VS angels. To get the perfect bombshell waves, apply volume mousse generously throughout your roots and allow to dry naturally. Brush through with a thick barrel curling iron and tong until your entire head is fully curled. Brush out with a wide toothed comb for the ultimate undone waves.
