Don’t wash your hair daily! Daily washing strips the natural oils from your scalp and can result in the overproduction of oil, which gives you that oh-so-unattractive greasy sheen at your roots. Keep it to once every 2-3 days to allow for optimal scalp health.
Apply conditioner to the ends, and only shampoo your roots! Shampooing your ends is largely unnecessary seeing as they are too far from your scalp to get very dirty and it can make them excessively dry and split. Conditioning your roots will take away any natural volume your hair may have and make it limp and lifeless.
Stop taking hot showers! Heat is one of the biggest no-no’s in hair care and should be kept to an absolute minimum wherever possible. Lather and wet your hair with lukewarm water and rinse with cold water (the colder you can handle the better!) This locks in shine and closes the hairs follicle, preventing it from further damage through heat styling.
